Who am I?
I’m Christie, a 20-something who currently calls the pacific northwest home. I’ve decided to make 2016 my year of me and my main goals are to focus on being healthier and happier. This blog is where I post paleo or PracticallyPaleo recipes, talk about exercise and fitness, show how I get involved with my community, and give tips on how to live a happier and healthier life.
Why is this blog called PracticallyPaleo?
1. It shows you practical ways to incorporate the paleo diet into your life.
2. Living a PracticallyPaleo life isn’t about limiting or restricting yourself from the foods you love (I’m sorry but I love peanuts way too much to give them up completely). Instead, it’s about shifting your focus to a more paleo-centric diet, so you’re living almost paleo or practically paleo.
What is the paleo diet?
A diet based on the types of foods presumed to have been eaten by early humans, consisting chiefly of meat, vegetables, and fruit, and excluding dairy or grain products and processed food.
What is the PracticallyPaleo diet?
A diet based on the types of foods presumed to have been eaten by early humans, consisting chiefly of meat, vegetables, and fruit, and reducing dairy or grain products and processed food.
The main difference here is that we’re focused on greatly reducing our intake of dairy, grains, and processed food. But we’re definitely not telling you to skip your favorite pie at Thanksgiving.
